USMMA Class of 2027 Waiting Room & Hangout

For the official orders to report, do I bring both the acceptance/declination sheet and the sheet with the order number? Or do I just bring the one with the order number?
Buy an accordion file, make copies of ALL your paperwork, including medical forms, put them in the accordion file and bring it to Indoc with you.

For the religious needs assessment form, when does that need to be submitted and since company designations and USMMA emails haven't been given yet, do I just leave them blank?

You'll submit that during Indoc. You will receive your company assignment on zero day, and your email either that day or within the first few days.

I was sent an email saying to send it to the chaplain. left company and email blank and he said it was okay.

I had just gotten LASIK recently and was told by the Health Office to contact DODMERB to get my records updated. Who do I contact to get this taken care of?

Does anyone know any good brands of sock that would fit the description for what they asking for in the personal gear section? I don’t understand what they mean by trim. Also, do y’all know where I could find myself some predominantly white shoes? The places I went to didn’t seem to have them for some reason.

I can't speak to a brand, but I think by "trim" they mean don't bring socks with a visible logo (like Nike or Adidas). You can see by the picture from the Logging In doc for 2026 (see attached) that the sock is very plain from the shoe upward. "Crew" of course refers to the length. I would take a pair of sneakers with you to the store where you purchase and make sure you get a good fit. You will be marching several miles a day! Amazon has a plain Goldtoe Men's crew length sock at GoldToe Men's crew but again I suggest you buy locally in case you don't like the way they fit.

As for shoes, the Logging In booklet says predominately white so perhaps the Nike Pegasus 40? It is a very popular and well made shoe. Google it and see if any stores where you live carry it. Again, you will be on your feet for close to 16 hours a day; get something comfortable!

This shoe question comes up every year. It is not as easy as it used to be to get predominantly whits shoes. The idea is not to draw attention to yourself with orange neon. If you need to, some amount of blue or gray mixed with white is fine. Make sure they are broken in before you go. Also, bring moleskin for blister issues.

Follow the advice that's been given by the class ambassadors during the parents zoom calls. No visible logos on the socks. Same with the shoes, predominately white, some light grey may be acceptable. Don't bring anything with you that isnt on the approved list. No one on this page will be doing your push ups for you if you get called out for wearing the wrong shoes or socks, or bring something your not supposed to. Anything else you made need can be sent after Indoc.

For undershorts/compression shorts, are boxer briefs acceptable? Also, I had gotten some compression shorts (McDavid is the brand) from Walmart and was wondering if those are good? If not, any brands of either under or compression shorts that y'all would recommend?

Ended up getting 2 pairs of Pegasus 39s from Academy today. Thanks for the help.

The Logging In document should be your guide. In that respect the 2026 document says “your preference” so no one is going to check, especially these days. Just don’t have flaming red whatever and expect to wear them under white trousers without some ramifications. The key to all of what is required is to follow the recommendations but DON’T stand out as being different. If close to 300 mids have white socks, and you and about 10 other have gray, you and the 10 others are in for deep trouble.

For the toiletry articles, what brands did yall go with? I'm curious.
You mention you bought shoes from the Academy. If you have a NEX account go in and see what brands of the suggested toiletry articles they might carry and hopefully they will match what you currently use. There isn’t anything magic about what you will use, nor what your room mate might use. You will each have individual medicine cabinets and sinks with ample room for your own choices.

To everyone, congratulations. But some hard work lies in the near term for each of you! Get your copy of the Logging In document opened and print the checklists that are in the final few pages. You are about one month from INDOC and there are numerous items that need to be accomplished. Many such items take time, passport and TWIC card for instance.

My son got his letter of appointment today (via FedEx.) He hasn't received any other communication. Because he has to report for INDOC so soon - could someone tell me where the links are for the packing list and other necessary information? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Some current parents hopefully will chime in but see what you can do to find a document called Logging In Class of 2025. Email the admissions office if needed, and the sooner the better. Open the link Logging In Class of 2025 which is the document for Class of 2025 and yours will be very similar. Note that within that document is a way to buy a reporting in “kit” that will be issued by the on facilty exchange on reporting day. There is also a section covering personal effects needed. LASTLY, and most important your DS will need a TWIC card and a passport. Seek out those sections in the Logging In document.

At this late in the game, I suspect your DS is an alternate to someone that declined their appointment at the last minute. I would hope the Academy will cut you some slack. Find an admissions contact and develop a relationship, the sooner the better.
