Reaching out to see what kind of arrangements I should be considering for USMMA I-Day. I flew blind with my class of 2020 USNA son and booked the wrong days so missed some things that I would have loved to be a part of. Considering our family will have to fly into a NYC airport and book accommodations, what dates should I target? June 28th is the Friday so can I assume that will be I-day? Are there things for families to do while I-Day takes place? I have only USNA I-day back in 2016 to fall upon and I'm sure it is VERY different...or maybe not..?? Any suggestions from current/former Kings Pointers are appreciated! Places to stay, places to eat, places to avoid...TIA!

Once your son/daughter is appointed and you accept the nomination, you will be asked to join a Parents 2023 Facebook group. It will be parents only, but have one or more experienced moms in at as well to help with dispersing information. You'll get the hotel list, restaurant list, advice regarding traveling, suggestions, tips, advice - everything you could dream of! They will answer all of your questions as well.

My son is a plebe this year - I'm happy to chat with you about anything you want to know as well! You can PM me and then we can email privately and I can share everything that I know and our experience from last year.

If your son or daughter is on a sports team, they often have a picnic the day before Indoc. He or she will find out that information from their coach. On the first day of Indoc, after we dropped my brother off for processing we were able to hang around and watch him be sworn in. There was a parent meeting as well as an alumni picnic for the parents.
