Hello, I am thinking of going to this academy, but as it is a service academy I am curious about its phone policy?
Can students use their phones or is it a privilege?

After recognition, you will not have restrictions on phone usage. During INDOC you will not have your phone except for a brief time on Sundays to make a phone call (time limit varies with your cadre.). During plebe year, phone privileges vary by company and often depend on company performance. In recent years, you generally get to have your phone after INDOC, but that is a rate that can be taken away, so no guarantees.

kpmom2013 got the gist of it but we've had our phones since after indoc ended and we've pretty much been able to use them as regularly as we've needed too. Obviously I am not walking around campus with my phone out, but I carry it on my person and use it in non-class rates areas. Some companies have started giving their plebes phone rates officially but alas, my company is not one of them :///
