McAlister Field House will host the 17th annual All-Academy Championships on Sunday

Charleston, S.C. - The Citadel Wrestling team will host the 17th annual All-Academy Championships on Sunday at McAlister Field House. Action will begin at 9 a.m. on three different mats.

The Citadel will be hosting the event for the first since 2005. The Bulldogs are in search of their first All-Academy team title, but have 14 All-Academy individual titles.

Two current Bulldogs hold All-Academy titles. Redshirt senior Tyler Sim will be attempting to capture his second title, this time at 133 pounds. In 2009, he won the title at 125 pounds. Last year at Navy, Odie Delaney took home the heavyweight title. Delaney is redshirting this season.

The Bulldogs finished in third place in last year's event held in Annapolis, Md. Navy won last year's event and has won five of the last six All-Academy team titles. The Midshipmen have nine total titles, the most of any school.

Two Bulldogs are looking to capture titles for the first time after falling just short last season. Redshirt junior J.C. Oddo has come in second place in both the 2009 and 2010 tournaments. Redshirt senior Derek Royster looks to cap his career with a title after taking third in 2009 and second place last season in Annapolis.

Three first time All-Academy placers will look to improve their sport from a season ago as sophomore Turtogtokh Luvsandorj and junior Kelby Smith both captured third place, while sophomore Jordan Dix finished fourth.

Looking to place for the first time is junior Richard Alarcon at 125 pounds, junior Pierre Frazile at 157 pounds, redshirt junior Justin Sparrow at 184 pounds and true freshman Luke Johnson at heavyweight.
