While I don’t think his was the best Presidency, I admire President Jimmy Carter for his lifelong servant leadership and work ethic.

And - he went to two different colleges before he got into USNA!

Here are his bio and a current pic underscoring his “doer” personality.

Although he deserves his own thread...this could also go under the BADA$$ one, too.

I thought about it, but it just didn’t seem right with kittens, dachshunds and buffalo.

And - this is a great example of how post-Academy/post-military/post-corporate life can look. I recently shifted from the for-profit sector to the VSO (veteran service organization) NPO sector, and have added more volunteer work with mil-vet organizations. This is now my path until my brain and body can no longer support. If I can work a nail gun at 95, I will think I have invested my time on the planet well.

I will say this: I was not, and am not, a fan of President James Earl Carter.

HOWEVER...private citizen and USNA '47 graduate, Jimmy Carter? He has amazed me with his post-White House service, leadership, and devotion to bettering people's lives globally, not just nationally. He has positively impacted literally tens of millions...can one have a better legacy than that?

My hats off to him, and my glass is raised high in tribute to him!!
