Congratulations!! The girl did it....and some doubted!=?? makes the accomplishment so much sweeter. Tell her, we're proud of her!:biggrin::redface:
 
mjcjac: We may not be from Missouri. We happen to be from Maryland but we completely agree with you!!! My son wants that appointment in hand. The call from the congressman saying he got in was great but it won't seem real until the appointment packet is in hand. I think that feeling is universal.
 
Some laugh and cry at the same time. Some throw their hands up in the air and scream YESS. Others go over and hug their dog. I simply sat at the table and smiled at the envelope for about 30 minutes before opening it.

Now we have something to ponder on.

Our son received a call from Congressman Bartlett yesterday afternoon telling him congratulations, your appointment is on its way, and thank you for wanting to serve our country!!
We just heard the message today, our son has not heard it yet...can't wait for him to get home and watch him while he listens to it!!!
We are doing the happy dance next to the mailbox while we stalk the mailman :)
We are in MD district 6.
YAY!

For those who received MOC call, how long before your status changed on DODMERB? Son received call from senator's office 1/29 congratulating on nom and telling him USNA had called them to say he was receiving an appointment, but there is no status change. Also, will something change on CIS? It indicates nom but is there anything else that will change?
 
Nothing has changed on CIS. Dodmerb "admissions status" date changed to Feb 5, 2009 on feb 5...he got the call from the congressman yesterday afternoon (feb 10) nothing in the mail yet...hope this helps.
 
Just called home; no mail today:frown:
To usnamaybemom2013-my status changed on DODMERB on Feb 5,2009 to that date. no change on CIS. Hope that helps.

Nothing changes on the CIS and after I received my call from my Congresswomen, it took about a week exactly to get here. CONGRATULATIONS to everyone! Hope to see you all as a part of the class of 2013!!! :)
 
Thanks for the congrats! The mail brought a very nice certificate from Congressman Bartlett: "Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition on the occassion of your appointment to the US Naval Academy" Very nice folder from the House of Representatives with his name in calligraphy on the folder and the congressman's signature.
The boy listened to the message from the Congressman and got so happy, he hugged/picked me up and twirled me around the room. Then he hugged his sisters and the DOG! The dog was so confused. Then he ran up to tell his dad. We presented him with the envelope from the Congressman...this is real now! We wait on the official appointment, but it is a happy day.
Thank you for everyone's support! Here's hoping all get the news they are waiting for very soon!!!!

Hey all, I got off the phone with my senator and was told I've been accepted!

I'm very excited and was wondering if anyone wanted to start a channel on IRC, so we don't need to share personal information (emails and the like) but can still talk.

Appointment package arrived today! Exactly 2 weeks after call from Senator's office. And he is off to CVW on March 26.

Congrats...No mail here today:frown: How long did yours take from seeing the status change on Dodmerb? My status changed Feb 5, rec'd appt 1/29.
The wait is agonizing:eek:
 
His admission status on dodmerb hasn't changed since 04 aug 2008. The only thing new was the update of Senator Hutchison's nomination on CIS on 1/26. The postmark on the package is 2/10 and it was sent priority mail. S also learned of his appt on 1/29. We are in Texas. Are you farther away?

I got my appointment letter last friday or so. I live in Baltimore, Maryland and I go to Perry Hall High School. Congratulations to everyone on this forum who got an appointment! I hope to see all of you and meet all of you!

Just a little bit about me. My name is Will and I've been going to PHHS for all 4 years. I didnt get any calls about appointments but I got the letter, certificate, and the packet of stuff to send back to the academy. I actually had to call my regional director and answer a few questions about my application though.. not quite sure what that's about. I got my nomination from Senator Mikulski and I was actually too late to apply for my congressman (gilchrest) -__-..

For the person who was asking about SATs, I got 1330 out of two subjects.

But if there are any marylanders on this forum please send me a message!
