Appointment Notifications
Based on BGO training last summer, I believe MOCs are given the opportunity to notify their appointees, what each individual MOC does with that opportunity is up to them. The phone call home seems very common, the call to school is a very nice touch. 10 days after notifying the MOC, your nomination package will be mailed via regular First Class mail. Like my daughter two years ago, you may get a letter placing you on the waiting list. I have never heard of different groups of waiting list, as referenced by SRHSMOM, but things change over time, even short periods of time.
