USNA AMI, but not USAFA

I was DQd because of my eczema for both USAFA and USNA.

I sent AMI to DoDMERB regarding my eczema because "USNA requested a subsequent review of my medical examination" (USNA sent a request through DoDMERB for these AMI). I also contacted USNA themselves and they told me that I was in the waiver process.

However, USAFA has not sent in any request through DoDMERB for AMI regarding my eczema.

Is this because I already sent in eczema AMI to DoDMERB for USNA, making it unnecessary for USAFA to request for the same exact set of AMI? Has USAFA started the waiver process and just hasn't contacted me?

USNA
- CIS (Application Status): CPR
- CIS (Required Actions): Complete Medical Qualification Exam
- DoDMERB portal: "Pending Waiver Submission/Review"

USAFA
- Portal: Complete but Medically DQd
- Medical Status: Disqualified
- DoDMERB portal: "Pending Waiver Submission/Review"

From what I understand of the waiver process the Service Academy you applied to will not initiate the waiver process until ALL AMI and remedial work is completed to their satisfaction. Only then is your file sent to the academy for the waiver process to begin. AMI and remedial work is done thru DODMERB and waiver is done specifically to the academy

Each SA is independent of the other. One may initiate a waiver, while another may not. Also, a condition may be waiverable for one service and not another one. It could also be the case that one academy is interested in offering an appointment, while another one isn’t. I’m speaking in generalities, not about you individually. I also don’t know specifics about eczema for either academy.

My DD had the same thing but for USMA and USAFA. Her USAFA portal said the same thing up until the day she received her waiver. USAFA asked for more info after the initial AMI but USMA did not. However, we did send the info to both academies just to cover her bases. Once the second letter from her Derm was sent it was only a few days until both academies have her waivers. Overall, it took over two months.

May you elaborate when you said that you sent the AMI to both SA. My understanding was that you are supposed to email the AMI to DoDMERB, they will process it, and then post it for the SA to look at.
Also, to clarify, both USAFA and USMA requested AMI?

DoDMERB initially requested AMI on behalf of both. A few weeks ago, she received an email from the waiver authority at USAFA wanting a letter from her Derm. She never was contacted directly from anyone representing USMA— just the original request for more back up medical records etc through DoDMERB. When she got the letter from her Derm, she sent it directly to the person that sent her the email from USAFA AND she forwarded it to her DoDMERB contact as well to share with USMA.
