USNA and DEP

Good evening. So I've been wondering:

I will be going to MEPS this coming weekend and possibly DEP'ing into the Marine Corps. I've already applied to USNA and let my recruiter know about this well in advance (he said it was fine), but I'd like to get some external input.

Is it possible to apply for USNA, or other Service Academies at that, while in the Delayed Enlistment Program? I understand you aren't officially contracted while in DEP and may "back out" at any time, but I just wanted to verify whether the USNA will look in the system, see I'm on the record for enlistment, and overlook me completely.

I am finished with my USNA application and I am in the Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program. I am in it because I want to be a Marine. Period. Plan A is USNA, plan B is NROTC/MO and plan C is Parris Island, South Carolina. Make sure if you're joining the DEP, you feel the same way.

Just as a side note, I called Admissions to see if I needed to fax my contract or any information from my RSS and they said its only an issue if you're shipping before May 1. My ship date isn't until June so they said not to worry about it. However I would make sure you put it on your application because it shows dedication.
