I have just completed the Activities Record for my USNA Application, but it says "Error!" every single time I try to submit it. Has this ever happened to anyone? I have double-checked everything and can't seem to figure out why there is an error. Thanks!

Tried changing browsers? Military systems often like Explorer.

That happened to me once and all I had to do was shut down the browser and reopen and re-log in. Also, make sure that all of the remarks are of appropriate length or it won't accept the whole form. You should be able to click on application instructions to check what the length requirements are.

Make sure that you checked a box on every single activity listed. It either needs to be the non applicable box or it needs to be filled in with the years you participated in that activity. This was happening to my son, and its because he left some that he didn't participate in unchecked.

First time user here. Signed up for this forum because we are having the same issue. I am sure my son is filling out the application correctly. We have checked it over a dozen times with him. It even sends his counselor an email every time he tries to submit, for the counselor to validate, but there's nothing to validate because it won't accept his submission. We are currently at the Academy for a sailing camp, so I went to see admissions personally. They are looking into it, but have no answers at this point, and seem to think it is user error. (My wife is a 30-year Information Technology professional. We are confident there is an error in the system, but we will have to find someone to help.) All of the other modules on the application are working fine so far. The activities record is the only one giving my son fits. Please share your experiences (positive or negative) on the candidate activities record on this thread. That will help show Admissions Office whether it's an isolated problem or a pervasive one, so they can troubleshoot. It appears this is affecting more than a few candidates. Please reply with your experiences on the candidate activities record module. Thanks!

I had this exact same problem and it was driving me crazy. My issue ended up being the characters. Although it appeared I had the correct character count in the Remarks Section, I actually didn't. Make sure that you have no bullets/dashes in your remarks. Also, do not press "enter" or "return" after every activity/position that you are listing. I did this, which caused an error to show up. Make sure every activity is separated by a comma, rather than jumping to the next line. Hope this helps.

We will give it a try when we get back home from Annapolis on Wednesday. Since he is cutting and pasting the activities remarks from a Word document, your advice about not jumping to the next line makes sense. If that is it, it is a shame they don't include these cautions in the instructions! Best of luck to you in your application. Hopefully you and my son are classmates in 2018. As a USAFA grad, I can tell you that you will only get through the trials with teamwork and helping each other, not competing with each other. Thank you!

My son had an error the first time he tried to submit, but I think it was because he took too long when filling it out and let it sit on his screen for awhile. The second time he was quicker and it went right through.

One huge tip on this that I quickly learned: DO NOT use Word. The character count is way off. I have experience zero issues once I started using: wordcounter.net . It saves everything as you write so I used that for every typing aspect of any application. Really helps out.
