USNA Cheer

Can anyone offer any advise or information on how to best prepare to be a candidate for USNA Cheer?

1. Be offered and accept an appointment to USNA. I didn’t go look at the USNA 2024 Appontment List, so congratulations if you are there.
2. Run, run and run, do core exercises, work on push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, flexibility, endurance, stamina and overall health and physical condition as you approach I-Day, to minimize injury.
2. Be a good Plebe during Plebe Summer: good attitude, 100% effort, help others.

I know a recent mid who did cheer for 3 years. Feel free to PM me for details.
 
Do you currently co-ed partner stunt? If not, private lessons at a local gym could go a long way with your try-out. Tumbling is also important for Varsity. Without additional context about your current situation, it is a little hard to make specific suggestions.
 
DD attended CVW and met a few cheerleaders. They told her to definitely continue her private lessons (tumbling/stunting) since football season is over. She is a great tumbler and solid flyer, so she just needs to get that appointment! 😬😬
