USNA Class of 2017 Appointment Thread

Same here! Nothing in the mail for my DS either. Maybe tomorrow?!? Thanks CSMSV for the update!
 
Wait-listed?

What does it mean to be wait-listed? Does that mean, "we want you but we are waiting to see if the kid in front of you turns us down?" or does it mean "you are in the pool for the final round?" or both?
 
Waitlisted means that, if more admitted applicants than expected turn down their appointments, you are in the mix to be offered an appointment. In past years, sometimes quite a few folks have come off the wait list and sometimes no one does.

However, if "realization" is at or greater than expected, no one from the wait list will be offered an appointment.
 
DS has been notifief (in response to question to them) that USNA Admission sent out something last Friday. Considering that none of his nominating MOCs (x3) had received any word from the USNA as of Wednesday the 27th, my assumption is that his envelope will be thin and white, vice big and fat. Am hoping that it is something more than a flat out rejection, but we shall see.
 
If indeed USNA Admissions sent out a batch of BFEs and TWEs on Friday, mail must be especially slow since this forum is so dang quiet this week.

Side question perhaps answered in previous posts that I have not thoroughly scanned ... what is the scoop re: nominated, but not appointed (i.e. TWE recipients) candidates and NAPS? Is the NAPS process separate? Do some TWE-recipients get NAPS offers? Are NAPS offer recipients decided on a different schedule? Is there a correlation between wait-listed and NAPS offers?
 
We're in Virginia. If something was sent to our son on Friday, it would have made it by now. Either he wasn't in this batch or the batch didn't go out.
 
I was thinking the same thing because we're in Maryland, but I assume they sent everything via Bulk Mail which is 3-5 business days. If they weren't even shipped til the end of the day Friday - BFE or TWE could be in the mailbox tomorrow or Friday.
 
Folks, try being in Guantanmo Bay. Mail sent out on the 29th will not get here until at least the 12th of April.
 
MOC has QNS list

Nothing in mail today from USNA here either. Called MOC office yesterday to see if they had heard anything. We are in a very unpopulated district MN08, so there are few applicants. MOC called back this afternoon and said that they were sent a list of QNS. DD is on that list. She will now gratefully accept her appointment to USMA even though USNA was her first choice. Good Luck to all still waiting in limbo. At least we can move on. These forums are very helpful. Thank you to all who participate!!
