It was an email - packet to follow and no phone call yet, although I expect it. And from everything we have heard - siblings at an academy seem to help - at least is appeared that way from all of the interviews our youngest DS had this year.
 
Our PA nomination process was unconventional. Oct. our MOC office was vacant so was told no nomination would be given. Nov. newly elected MOC office said maybe they will take nom. Dec. son called office and they told him to quickly send in his transcript & resume. Within 3weeks he had an interview & a nom. It was a rollercoaster of a ride. Also, he missed Casey’s interview due to an unexpected Nov. snowstorm. For Toomey’s interview day the roads were all flooded, we barely made it on time. I am still recovering from the nomination drama, lol!

We just received turn down letter from Toomey today “due to competitive pool and/or other nominations they were informed we received”. Guess the 2 senators do make sure they don’t double up on someone! So we are very grateful for the two we did receive from Casey and congresswoman. Now, to continue the wait.... Hey everybody,
I’m an applicant from PA. I have received a nomination from Lou Barletta (former PA-11) for USNA and USAFA. I’m a bit confused though because PA’s congressional districts have been altered and now I am in the new PA-12 (Marino). I was wondering if anyone is in a similar situation. Also, both senators have turned me down for nominations (probably because I already received two). The wait for a decision is killing me.

Our district changed too- but our Congressman didn't so DS's situation was a little different. He received the nomination from now PA-11 (formerly PA-16). No senators. Got the appointment Tuesday. Good luck - hopefully soon!

Our district changed us - but our Congressman didn't so DS's situation was a little different. He received the nomination from now PA-11 (formerly PA-16). No senators. Got the appointment Tuesday. Good luck - hopefully soon!

The way Rep Cartwright's staff explained to us, the nomination process goes through whichever representative you have at application time, regardless if he/she will be your representative come inauguration. Rep Cartwright was our congressman (PA-17) until last week. We now are part of PA-7 with Susan Wild. The staff told us that if the charge were going to be with Cartwright himself, he would proudly take it even though we are not represented by him any longer, considering he was our representative for many years. I am sure this is how it is routinely done. Congressional redistricting is not an uncommon thing and they need to keep some sort of a flow.
 
Also, dropped off for CVW and attended parent info session. Two appointments given out by Dean during presentations. I also thought I heard the Dean mention one-third of appointments have been made. Did anyone else hear that. Btw, this probably isn’t the right thread for this. We’ve hijacked the appointment thread. Sadly.

I attended Candidate Weekend back in October- it was an awesome experience and amazing to see everything the midshipmen accomplish in a day!

40%; good to know. This exercise in patience is tough on a mom. No LOA here, but 3noms, so hoping for an app for DD. No guarantees, but lots of hope.
