Quick question? Did the portal say Complete Pending Review before the appointment? My DD has her nomination had her application has been complete since Dec. 1 and Dodmerb showing qualified since Dec. 28th but her portal still has Complete Pending Review and Required Action: Complete Medical Qualification Exam.

Yes, it did say complete pending review. There were no required actions left. Sorry. There was a significant delay (sev weeks I think according to my DS) from passing dodmerb until it registered on portal. Good luck!!

11 out of 24 undecided is almost half. Last year on this date, there were 28 on the list and only 7 undecided.

It seems like a high number to me. If they give my son the waiver ... he will call them up asking to sign before they change their minds. After he and I are done crying.

I’d be interested to know why they are undecided ... if people could post that info. Are they deciding between an Ivy or USMA vs Naval Academy?

Some are in the enviable situation of having more than one service academy offer., and possibly even a scholarship to a civilian university.

Is it possible they were undecided when they originally posted but have since decided? Not sure how that field gets updated

Same way they posted original info - copy current list, paste into new post, edit, post. All that list reflects is what was true on that day.

No appointments from Massachusetts yet? What happens to the "declined" appointments. Does that open the door for others? Also, if the MOC nominations from our state can only have so many in the academy at once. Doesn't that make the odds less by state?

MA is historically slow. Senators don’t submit their slates until Jan 31st, and my congressman’s staff still hasn’t uploaded my nomination. Hurry up and wait!

    > Not necessarily. Admissions accounts for some level of declines in their planning. That being said, USNA's "declined" offers is relatively low compared to most other competitive colleges. Purely speculation (based upon my observation over years ), if an Offer of Appointment is declined early, then that position is more likely to be filled by another offer.

. Odds vary because different states have different numbers of applicants. If you have 5000 applicants in Virginia, and 50 in Montana, the "odds" are better for someone applying from Montana, but they still need to be qualified. You often see references to competitive states and districts on this Forum.

@A1Janitor My DS received an LOA in early November, was cleared medically in the beginning of December and received a nomination right before Christmas. He was recently accepted early action to Harvard. What I once thought was a no-brainer decision for him where he would attend the USNA has now become very cloudy. He has applied for a NROTC Scholarship to use at Harvard if that's where he decides to go. My feeling right now is that he will end up going to Harvard. As a service academy grad (from a different academy) I'm a little saddened at the prospect that he will not be at Annapolis on I-Day, but Harvard is difficult to turn down. I guess I will have to wait and see where he decides to go.

    Congrats!

Harvard vs. Navy would have been a tough call for my son.
