USNA CLASS OF 2024 Update-List-Yourself APPOINTMENTS

Does anyone know why some states are released earlier than others by the admission's office? When you look at this year compared to last, there is some consistency. Why would WA, PA or AZ get released before ID or UT?
 
More likely which states have MOC nominations released earlier. I know DS' state all 3 MOCS supposedly wait until 1/31 so wouldnt expect many earlier appointments.

Lots of variables, some have earlier in state closing dates, some have more applicants than others, some interview all candidates, some compare notes, legislative schedules, holidays, staff shortages, tons of reasons. Hang in there!

Thank you, my candidate received 2 Senator and a Congressional nomination from his state over Christmas break. There's just some piece of the puzzle that I don't seem to understand. All good, you are right, this is a lesson in patience.
 
i wonder if the college reapplicant pool changes things too. if an MOC has no college reapplicants on their slate they might be able to resolve that slate quicker than if there are one or more that will hold up that slate due to college transcripts not being sent until january. just a thought as to why different states/slates are done early.

Some applicants, may be waiting to hear from regular decision schools that won't advise them of their acceptance until mid-March.
 
According to the USNA website:

"The USNA uses a "rolling admissions" selection process. Most candidates will be notified of their final status by April 15. All appointees should notify the Admissions Office of their intention to accept or decline by May 1."
