Although ecstatic and relieved, DS is understandably skittish about announcing anything outside of family until we have at least another positive data point. This is the kid who had his $200,000 ISR NROTC scholarship offer rescinded (unwilling to tell local commander he was withdrawing USNA and USMA apps /only going NROTC). Also the same kid who received a "non-selection" email from NROTC, only to receive another email an hour and 20 minutes later saying "non-selection" email was sent in error.

BFE or Portal change
 
DD received an email, spoke with BGO, went to the portal, and accepted the appointment. I do hope they don't change their minds...
 
Quick question -- for the initial MOC slate review - does Admissions look at each individual congressional seat and senate seat slate separately?

For example - reviewing the slate of candidates that WI5 submitted (say 10 kids) - do they "pick" one and toss the rest in a general pool --- or do they aggregate all MOC submissions - regardless of specific residency?

We have been so impressed with MOC Jason Crow's office every step ....I cannot imagine his MOC staff (or any MOC staff) getting this wrong after they've gone through this process with these kids for almost a year. In the meantime, will wait to add DS to the Appointment thread until Portal Change or BFE, as advised above!

OMG that's awesome! We are still in waiting mode but this will make that spring break cruise all the sweeter knowing he got accepted to USNA!

Question--are people self-listing based on MOC call? Or waiting for Portal to show? Waiting for BFE? DS got phone call from Congressman Jason Crow today. Although ecstatic and relieved, DS is understandably skittish about announcing anything outside of family until we have at least another positive data point. This is the kid who had his $200,000 ISR NROTC scholarship offer rescinded (unwilling to tell local commander he was withdrawing USNA and USMA apps /only going NROTC). Also the same kid who received a "non-selection" email from NROTC, only to receive another email an hour and 20 minutes later saying "non-selection" email was sent in error.

Oh my goodness! The wait is over. DS received email notification (no MOC phone call) at 1pm this afternoon). We didn't believe it until we saw the portal, which had been updated with the Fully Qualified Appointment. For those wondering, his application went in mid-Oct. We augmented his application with an additional recommendation after his first semester grades came in and he got an A+ in AP Physics (taught by a veteran of the Navy). That was yesterday. He heard today. Coincidence?
