For the next appointment, copy this text above, copy that 3rd line down to the 4th, (make the 3 a 4) and change name, DS,DD, Self, /LOA,No LOA / Date/ ACCEPTED, UNDECIDED, DECLINED/ MOC type (Senator, PRes, VP, Representative)/State/Direct Appointment From HS, College Re-Applicant, NROTC Re-applicant, Active Duty

All data is voluntary. If you don't want to say what state you're from, you don't have to. that goes for all of it.
 
I was looking around at last years appointments and quite a few posts started around this time about letters being received...there were a lot in Dec., & Jan., then trickled off to waitlisted applicants, with final decisions in Apr. Hurry up and wait...:oops:

Interesting to see that the first one very well was the USNA Superintendent and that the first person had to accept! I guess we learn something new every cycle.

My son has all of his paperwork in, nomination submitted, doctors appts. completed, passed his CFA at NASS, and the wait is already painful...the mailbox is the most exciting place in our household these days. I hope some of us are able to announce good news soon.

The initial route of notification is via email and the portal status will change. After all submissions by applicant, the portal changes to Complete, Pending Review (Known as CPR on the forum) and then when you receive an acceptance, it changes to Conditional Offer of Appointment (Known as COOA), Pending Nomination (from Member of Congress, known as MOC).

Other options are “College Reapplicant” appointment, appointment from NAPS or possibly from Foundation school. Other possibilities are Direct from Fleet or International appointment.

SAF is all about the acronyms. Time to study up on that stuff. The "military" in general, can't let anything go without assigning some acronym to it.
The "HumVee" came from HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle), for instance. Mainly because "HumWahVee" didn't roll off the tongue, very well.
