Thank you! My application timeline span was pretty long as I did, unfortunately, procrastinate but had my CFA completed in July, BGO interview in early December, and finally finished my personal statement and pressed submit application at midnight on January 20th. My nomination was received by USNA on January 11th. I am very fortunate to have a status change within less than 3 weeks of submitting.

yes it is under the old portal - and it says a decision is ready on the left hand side - you cant miss it - this is not the new portal

I thought the people here might find this information to be of interest: according to an email sent out with a survey to gauge interest and availability to visit USNA in March and April, there have been about 379 LOAs and Fully Qualified Offers of Appointment sent out so far.

I surmised based of off the number of people CC’d on the email, but I could also be totally wrong. There could’ve been multiple emails sent out.

I have an LOA. Like I said, I didn’t know for sure, but it might be an interesting data point.
Here is the email’s wording:

“You have either received a Conditional Offer of Appointment (Letter of Assurance) or a Fully Qualified Offer of Appointment and are now one step closer to attending the United States Naval Academy.”

Check your spam folder just in case. Also if you are using school email, a mass email like this could be flagged.

I’ve had a principal nom since November with no LOA, is there any reason to be concerned that I have not heard any updates or is this pretty standard procedure? Note- my friend with a LOA received an appointment on my slate a month ago and denied it.

Yes, it definitely could be! If people have already accepted, then there really isn't any reason for them to have priority for visits because there is already limited capacity due to COVID. One of the questions on the survey asked if you had already been to USNA.

You can always book a meeting and go over your questions with TX state field counselor. You are pretty close.

Hang in there. If you are found fully qualified, with that principal nom, you should be offered an appointment. At some point.

Ypur friend may have had noms from additional sources. With an LOA, and an offer, he must have met all the conditions in the LOA. We have no idea of what nom source his appointment would be charged to if he had accepted.
