Hi, and congratulations! I have the Presidential Nom and an LOA, but I'm waiting on medical. I had a pretty straightforward profile, no issues or anything, but it's been four weeks now. Last I heard from them was a week after my exam when they needed to know more about a scar. How fast did you hear back?1) nunz6/Self/Oct 25, 21/Accepted/Presidential Nom/direct appoint

There is a DoDMERB part to the forum here, and if you post your question, and the follow-on email to the DoDMERB guru that will be requested soon after, you will find out your answer asap.Hi, and congratulations! Your LOA and nomination bode extremely well for you. Sounds like you do not anticipate any medical issues and anticipate being fully qualified - academically, physically, and medically in short order. Note that even if all conditions of your LOA have been met that you may still be in for a longer wait though hopefully not. There is no guaranty that anyone else's timeline will be indicative of your timeline, whether on the medical qualification piece or more generally, especially as the admissions season is in full swing.Hi, and congratulations! Unfortunately you will not get a right answer from anyone because the process is all encompassing and no one truly knows what goes into a decision. Mid 20s is not a terrible ACT score and honestly it would not hurt him to retake the test in December with a little more experience under his belt. If anything, retaking the test shows the want to improve despite the frustrations that are involved with college entrance exams.Hey folks,
Can someone give me the HONEST answer about what the USNA will accept for ACT scores? I have spoken and listened to many administration officials including BGO officers who have told me that ACT scores aren't the be all and end all for acceptance into the Academy. My son is in the top 20% of his class with a 91 average (All AP and honors courses). He is Captain of his varsity track team, a classical musician with the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of New York, is involved with volunteer work with his church and various organizations, etc., but his ACT scores are average in the mid 20's. He has done everything the Academy has asked him to do: Summer Seminar, Candidates Visitors Weekend, all invites to information seminars etc. And now the Administration Advisor at the Academy has told him to take the ACT's again, which is December. Yes, all his application info is in. It's getting frustrating. Any honest answer would be appreciated. Thanks.
Ken

I would say retake the test because its better to put in the effort now and improve your score then look back and regret not trying to do everything you can to get a little more leverage.
