USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

I am having the same problem… You aren’t alone!
I'm going to wait and try again later. I tried to log in from a different browser but now the login credentials aren't working. My DD tried too and they are working for her. Perhaps there is an issue with the system.

I downloaded this as a jpeg, maybe it will work better for you instead of a PDF.

See if this works. I saved it as a "printed" pdf. Then tested it by importing it into Word and it read it in word, ok.

A hopeful I've been rooting for has just received an offer of appointment. The status was CPR, then about two weeks ago was advised that a medical waiver process has been initiated by USNA, followed by an AMI request which was promptly complied with. There is still hope for those whose status is CPR and whose waivers are under review. Good luck to all still waiting.

If you read through the threads, you will see the caliber of students that applied to the C/O 2027. Some of the schools they were accepted to include Cornell, Notre Dame and Georgia Tech. Now, if you got accepted to those schools and then received a wait list offer to East Mississippi Community College, I would consider the wait list offer to be insulting.

If you think NAPS is not the equivalent to a community college education, try transferring the classes you take there to another institution such as Georgia Tech. (Even USNA doesn’t accept them.)
And my DS is willing to serve and defend this perspective, or at least the freedom to express it. Yet another example of my DS being more of a man than me! At any rate the best option for my son in my inconsequential opinion….is NAPS! May the stars allign….because he has invested his all

Should I get a passport before I attend? Weird question, but idk if they help you get one there or if I need to do that ASAP.

Not required to report in, but you will need one down the road, possibly at USNA and definitely later on.

Much easier to apply for it from home, get the headshots done at Kinko’s or similar place, provide appropriate documents, mail off. Your parents can get it to you after plebe summer. Research the DOS website, consult with parents, apply. Or wait until you’re home for winter break. You’ll be too busy at USNA. It’s a personal passport, not an official one, so you do the legwork. Official passports are only issued for certain assignments.

DC was issued a red one before heading to Europe for a training. I seem to remember that they needed the personal passport as part of the application for the official one.

I read the recommendation to get one before attending SA on this forum. I renewed last summer for the whole family online and mailed necessary docs. It took less than a month. FWIW: A colleague is in process and has said a back up is building.

I like your responses but I’m not sure the kids would know about Kinko’s since they’re all gone now. I can appreciate it since I used to go there to photocopy textbooks in college. 😂

My son went to a drug store for the picture and the post office to apply.

I used to go to Kinko’s to make copies. It was next to Tower Records. Which was next to Radio Shack. Which was next to Blockbuster. 😂🥴🤭
😆😆 I used to go to the Kinkos almost daily in Annapolis, I think in a plaza off Riva Rd to make DH this 50 page scrapbook for his graduation present covering every aspect of usna life. And it was next door to the Men’s Warehouse where he bought his first real suit which was next to the mattress store where he bought his first real mattress for his first apartment off Spa Rd. Those career starter loans were a gold mine! 🤑 Radio Shack is probably where he got his first cell phone, maybe 2/c year

it is easier to do at home. my daughter who is a youngster, passport was expiring soon so she did the renewal on the yard, but you have to bring photos and cash/money order and all the paperwork filled in, and birth certificate. the hard part is just finding the time to go get it done during the day before practice etc.....
