USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

What do you think the chances of getting an appointment to the naval academy or NAPS are at this point in the process? Have there been a lot of TWEs between now and the 15th in the past or appointments? Does it mean absolutely anything if they are still in it this late in the game or is it they are just medically and CFA qualified?
Sorry for all the questions. Just a stressed out mom trying to figure out the process.
I am here for this speculation post. No one knows of course. But... speculating is fun and even mildly stress relieving or this 60-page thread wouldn't exist!

There are exactly 3 weeks to go til April 15. I do not know about TWE vs BFE vs NAPS rates, or how DoDMERB issues are impacting these timelines either. It does seem like things with DoDMERB really impacted things, but also that it's flying at lightening speed now. I do feel very strongly that it ain't over til it's over.

Very true!! We all know we don't know anything but it helps to talk about what we think we know even if we don't actually know it because otherwise we'd just have to sit here and internally go insane. LOL!

Yesterday, USNA Admissions liked something I posted on FB and I choose to take that as a sign. I fully understand that it means nothing but it's all I've got so for 24 hrs I am going to just assume it means they are looking my son's way.

😂 I love this. We need more of this in the thread. No more "who knows" and "tend plan B". Time to get serious folks. I'm sure there are variables out there we could analyze. Likes... weather... rates of coffee consumption per capita in Anne Arundel County...

Congratulations! Quick question- did you get a nomination from a senator or MOC? (Just curious if that is a part of a "fully qualified offer" to NAPS)
No - Nomination is not required to get into NAPS

Also waiting for paper orders for massive oconus move (also waiting on a waiver, but not medical) in the next few months so I can actually schedule HHG, medical, visas, all the things. I should write a song about hurry up and wait 😬 Or just bury my head in the sand, that sounds good too.
I feel for you. My son reported in to an OCONUS assignment complete with wife and 3 kids under 5 for a two year tour. He is barely in place and was just selected for a career milestone and told he'll be moving back a year early. . .

I feel like I've heard that appointments usually come out more at the end of the week. Does anyone know if this is even a little true? Thanks.

Yesterday NAPS2028 followed both my DS and I on Instagram, I'm sure its nothing and he's still CPR but we can always hope it means good news is coming. 🤣

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like this when (well-meaning) friends and family ask how we're doing waiting to hear from USNA?View attachment 11535

This post resonates with me from the 2026 waiting thread. Thinking of the candidates, the sons and daughters, and the parents in the holding pattern.

DD's done everything she can to earn an appointment but with more qualified candidates than seats in the class I put my trust in the experienced admissions staff and the process and am confident that the right path for her will reveal itself. This is her work, preparation and plan and after that it's in God's hands.

Knowing all of that doesn't stop me from pacing the halls. Thankful for getting to take in the last first game of the season, the last semi formal and prom and enjoying a kiss goodnight, or sharing the dinner table as a family for the last few months before so much in her life changes, no matter the decision from USNA admissions. But on that topic, USAFA is kicking our butts over in their appointment thread. Hoping to celebrate some USNA appointments this week!!im-fine-why-do-you-ask.jpg

Go Navy, right?! Man with little kids, thats tough. This is his THIRD set of orders since 2018 he's been pulled early to go do something bigger and better. But we've managed to make it work with geobaching and keeping kids in place until now. The waiver is to leave a joint billet early and I'm sure it's sitting on someones desk waiting to be discovered. Send his wife my sympathies 😋

My first post. I decided to make an account to help me cope with the wait for my DS's decision from USNA. I told my wife I feel like I'm suffering alone. DS is more pragmatic about this whole process. (ie, I did my best, if USNA doesn't want me, then it wasn't meant to be.) Therefore, it doesn't appear that he is suffering like me.

I can learn a thing or two from him! Anyways, DS told me two kids from his school already received appointments after receiving LOA's. They are both from our congressional district as well.

Does this mean, this does not look good for us? We did not have an LOA. DS's application has been CPR since January. The last item on the checklist was his transcript which was received mid-January. Obviously DODMERB was late due to their issues, so that was received by the Academy in mid-February.
I can tell you that when my daughter received an appointment, there were many from our district that also got appts. not sure how all that works but that is what happened - if I recall it was around 6 or 7 kids. some from the same high schools too - dont let that bother you. you are still in until you get the TWE

LoL on the meme.

I only see 1 appointment from NY. Have there been any others unreported? Seems odd but I’m new to this as most of you are.
