USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

I only see 1 appointment from NY. Have there been any others unreported? Seems odd but I’m new to this as most of you are.

That's soooo nice to hear as we are in the same boat . DS knows about 2 kids in our area from another high school. So ....he was very discouraged but your message gave us a little bit of more hope

My DD is KY. We only know of one KY appoitment for sure and he’s not on SAF. He’s in on D1 MOC nomination. Where are you all at? You can PM me if you want.

Hang on to your hats folks. This is not an easy nor straight line process. While 15 April is the goal, it won’t be the end for some.

Bear in mind, that there are approximately 4800- 5200 (spitballing here) who qualify for nominations, and only approximately 1200 appointments accepted.

It is a cruel rate of attrition. And a mysterious process to be sure.

The only real known fact is that having a solid plan B-Z is mandatory and having a good attitude and willingness to accept the result, or challenge the result with a reapplication is necessary.

Haha D1. I get it. Totally read that as a ‘D1’. As in athlete. Message is still the same. You still don’t know where he was CHARGED.

No
Once a candidate has a nomination, they can be appointed off of the National List even if someone else has "that" MOC's appointment.

Go review the pinned post at the top of the Nominations forum. The SA can offer an appointment to any fully qualified candidate on that slate, and the appointment(s) is charged to nom authorities the SA manages. One of the appointments on the slate is charged to the elected official. The final 1:1 match of appointment to nom authority sometimes doesn’t settle out until very late in the cycle, and will probably never be known to the appointee. I think some of the USNA grads have gone to Nimitz Library and looked it up years later.

The elected official usually celebrates all appointees from their state/district, regardless of nom source or appointment charge.
