USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

Hi. First time posting so not sure if already answered. My DS has also be under waiver review since 01/27 with USAFA and USNA for 2 DQs. He also received DQs notice from AFROTC 03/14 but they replied back for AMI request 03/20. Tried scheduling remedial appts with DODMETS and now they are saying the next available for my area is a month away. My concern is if SAs WAs request for AMIs comes now then appts wont be til mid Apr. Anyone else in th same situation with concerns being under waiver review this late in the timeframe and the possiblity of AMIs being requested? Seems like AFROTC replied way quicker or is SAs WA that backlogged. Thanks in advance for any input.

Look through the DODMERB thread for others in similar positions.

USNA/USAFA/AFROTC all operate independently of one another. Each with different class building goals.

Some things are waiverable for one, and not another. So it makes sense he is at different places along the way, with different programs.

Has anybody from CT got an appointment?
Hi, I'm from CT also. My DS is still CPR. At the Blue and Gold Dinner at the Officers Club in Hartford we sat with a young man and his mother who said that he had already received an appointment. That's the only one from CT that I have heard about.

I have a wondering...DS was offered an appointment to West Point back in January. He needs to let them know by the beginning of May. What happens if he hears from Navy after the beginning of May, which we have heard happens at times? Navy is his first choice with West Point as a close second.

He can accept his appointment to West Point, and if Navy offers prior to IDay, he can let West Point know he is then declining. This happens every year to several.
WP and SAs in general are accustomed to this.

He can accept USMA but later decline, if he wishes. The SAs all plan for this type of attrition every cycle.

We are in the same boat - only there's no clear front runner - so DS accepted the USMA appointment yesterday and will make the final decision if/when he hears from USNA.

Are the denials going out as the process goes, or do they wait until 4/15 to send them? Just wondering if no news is good, or the hammer is just waiting to fall?

I've heard that too... We were one of the exceptions because the Rep was up for re-election, so I guess that means they are supposed to get them in early? Anyway DS was notified at the Army Navy game of all things but I have heard that typically NY is a little later.
Redistricting took effect in a lot of places last year as of 12/31/22. Our Congressman usually waits until January to submit his noms, but because a couple of towns were leaving his district, he needed to get them in before the end of last year to make sure applicants didn't get pushed to a different district where they hadn't participated in the process.

From what I've learned... yes, some have gone out and yes, more are coming.

Yes I believe she was up for re-election (won) and redistricted all at the same time. Meaning if DS reapplies next year it would be a different district/MOC. Although we don't live there so it's all very confusing. AD DH's home of record, but the Congresswoman was very welcoming and friendly all the same.
