USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

Same thing for my son but I still think they added it; we had ASVAB scores, updated transcripts and other extracurriculars. They did add in a 3rd SAT score so I know they are touching these!!:) Good luck all!!!:)
During my son’s cycle he inquired about reporting ASVAB scores. While his was high enough to keep recruiters calling me well into his youngster year, it wasn’t a data point that any of the academies he applied to wanted.

It was always fun when they called and asked what he was doing and had he considered the military. I would tell them where he was and they would typically pause and then say something along the lines of “oh so he decided to serve. Congratulations to him”. I always thanked them for reaching out. It can be a thankless job for recruiters.

I found it interesting that academies didn’t want the score or need it. It is such a hot button for recruitment for enlisted ranks and nuclear recruiting.

Friends, if you haven't been declined yet, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You've made it THIS far! April 15th is just a few weeks away now and having NOT heard yet - this is good news - you're still in this. Stay motivated, keep the momentum, find ways to positively impact your day-to-day.

DD is in! She woke us up at midnight to tell us the news!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! WELL DONE!! AND IM SURE WELL DESERVED!

Hey everyone, I am new to this forum and I have been looking at these replies since I was a freshman in high school. I am now a senior waiting for my portal to update. I love all the encouraging words! I do have a principal nom but I do not think I will qualify academically. As you guys have said do not worry about what you can not control! Thank you for giving such encouraging words and great information over the years!

Received LOA from USNA in October 2022 for class of 27. Got Disqualified by DODMERB due to walnut allergy. Got automatic waiver.
Medical facility cleared him of all allergies.

Unable to reach medical facility and DODMERB for answers. Been over 15 days since the test but no updates from DODMERB.

BGO and USNA admissions notified in writing. Their response: Give it another week.

Is this normal? The clock is ticking.

Serious question (not snarky, written comments are sometimes hard to decipher). What would make you think you aren't academically qualified if you received a principal nomination? Didn't your MOC ask for your academic record? I have a hard time believing they would give a principal nomination to someone who didn't meet the basic academic requirements for admissions. Regardless, best wishes in your waiting!

Yep. Hurry up and wait. Our DS was Medical AMI for a moment - when he took the initial Hearing Test, the facility had a faulty/noisy HVAC system which was louder than the earphones. He couldn't "hear" the test, so he failed. Took him to a Private Ear, Nose, Throat Hearing Specialist - his hearing is ABOVE normal baselines... Submitted the AMI to the system, it took a few weeks for it to "clear" back to Qualified. Still waiting!

It happens. Not often, but it can happen. Million reasons I could give. Don’t count yourself out! And if your record stood out so well during the MOC process it will to USNA. Even if not qualified, maybe USNA says NAPS! Hang in there.

Did DoDMERB portal update with waiver granted? If it has, it should be pretty quick to get the appointment. DD's DoDMERB portal went to Waiver Granted on 3/14, and got the appointment on 3/17

He cleared his test at the medical facility Mar 1, but found out they have yet to forward the results to DODMERB. It's quite a bit of challenge to reach out to anyone in that facility. Goes from one voice mail to the other. No call back ever. They just don't care. My fear is that would their negligence ultimately result in a denial by USNA if deadlines are not met.

I think the turnaround is only this quick if an LOA is involved.

DD was medically cleared in August, no waivers required, and has been CPR since October with a nom in December. Still we wait. In very good company, and celebrating along with all of you the great news of appointment offers.

Love your post midnight story of your DDs appointment, exciting times ahead!

I don't think stating that they don't care is accurate. They have a huge volume of people in the same position as you and are trying very hard to push everything through as efficiently as they can. Stopping to take phone calls and answer questions makes the process slower on their end. And don't forget, they are still recovering from months of a system wide crash. Considering everything on their plate, they are doing the best they can and could use a little grace.

My sincere apologies. was a bit quick to pull the trigger. In the end everything will work out. It always has. Thanks. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
