I read an article not too long ago about the pressures of “having to know” what you are doing, where you are going to school, ect for seniors who are still just trying to figure it all out themselves. It was so eye opening on so many levels for me. Now I just ask kids “what fun things do you have planned after graduation” They can decide what plans they want to share. And I totally get the importance of it now, after having 5000 people ask if DS “has heard yet?” It’s like a mini pressure cooker.Plan the vacation! We have a big trip scheduled that I have been planning (& still in the process). I am so grateful for the distraction with the stress of waiting until April 15th. Now that we are on the waitlist, I am so glad that my son has something fun to look forward to. This has been a long challenging journey, but we are honored to be considered. I just hate when a well meaning friend or family member asks DS his college plans. His friends have been posting their acceptance letters for months while we go to interviews and medical exams. Now he may not even know until after graduation. At least now when they ask what are you doing after graduation, he can say he is going on vacation!
