USNA Class of 2027 Waitlist: Team Hopeful

Haven't been on the forums for quite a while now... Has anyone been pulled off the waitlist? Is anyone still "under waiver review"?

There has been a small trickle both ways. A few appointments and last week or so, a few turn downs. But not a lot of movement either way. Not sure about the medical but some of the turn downs, came by way of medically dq'd. I think some with waivers pending, some with no waivers requested, ect.

Just checked my portal and got turned down.. Excited to start my plan B at Northeastern, completely different path. Best of luck to everyone else competing for admissions and thank you to all that have answered and helped me on the forum over the past year. It’s been a good one!
You have grown, for having gone through the process, no matter the outcome. You have a fantastic path ahead of you, and will most likely bump into your fellow applicants in a quick 4 yrs. Whether you know them or not.

Congrats on your next adventure.

I am a Northeastern graduate and you have a great plan B choice! Good luck and enjoy Boston.

Just now got an email from admissions. Turned down as well. Was really hoping for a better outcome but I'm excited to be doing NROTC at George Washington next year! Despite the rejection, I'm happy to finally know where I'll be going to college. No more having to explain to friends "well I've paid the deposit here but if the NA accepts me..."! Wish you all the best of luck in your next 4, USNA or not!

Wow, definitely purging. My DS also just turned down. She was a blue chip recruited athlete, with everything else in line - grades, MOC, medical approval etc. She walked away from other coaches due to this. Navy not having an ED doesn't allow kids to get an answer earlier and try to scramble and put something else together if god for bid this happens. We felt pretty comfortable that we could trust the coaches/admissions people at USNA. Would think they would be very ethical and aware of reputation. As a marketing person, I see it as a very bad look. Good luck to all on this forum. You have carried me through this painful and long process. At least we have an answer.

I received an email offering me a spot into NAPS. I can’t believe it because I know that there is a waiting list for NAPS and they still offered me a spot. I’m sorry for everyone that got a TWE, but reapply if you want to. I am a reapplicant and made it, so you guys can do it too!

Congrats! So ya weren’t waitlisted for NAPS and received an offer from NAPS?

I was waitlisted for direct appointment to USNA, so USNA waitlist. But since they do not have more spots in class of 2027 they offered me a spot into NAPS for class of 2028. I was not in the waiting list for NAPS so it took me by surprise they gave that offer.

Grab that golden ticket and hang on. Admissions is making very difficult decisions at this point, and you must have been precariously balanced on a knife edge. After weighing everything, they simply decided they wanted you perhaps a gnat’s eyelash more than another candidate, if not for this incoming class then for 2028.

They are getting down, if not already essentially there, to the last handful of missing puzzle pieces for Class of 2027, NAPS 2024 and Foundation Scholarships. At some point, the classes and prep offers will be considered done for the cycle.

Thank you everyone! In this process I have learned a lot. The Naval Academy do actually see your whole person to make a decision. My SAT score is 1080 and in the CFA even though I maxed out in some areas, in the mile run my time was 9:12. Also, my school did not offer AP or IB classes only honors and AICE, which are still rigorous, although not as much as AP. But they still gave me a chance. I would say to future applicants to not look down on your self if something is not the best in your application just keep trying and used it as a source of strength to be better.
