It’s Labor Day Eve/September, so the first drip of OFFERS OF APPOINTMENT will not be long in coming. Let’s have another great season of sharing good news, to note the flow of offers and spot trends in nom categories. Whether or not these posters decide to accept their offers, they are worthy of a nod of acknowledgement for having achieved the milestone of an offer of appointment.

Do not feel pressured by this. Appointments do start coming out in early fall but start flowing heavily after the winter holiday as the bigger categories of nominations firm up, deadlines hit and class-building hits its stride.

THE FORMAT: This is the simplest and oldest format, a straight text list, no formatted tables, that is described in following paragraphs. If you decide to independently import a table, box or spreadsheet format to “help” the thread, please take full responsibility for it to the end of the cycle. Provide clear instructions. Check in regularly to help those who have trouble with it. Rescue those who give up or don’t bother and just leave a name in the hope someone will scoop it up and add it. The Class of 2025 list sputtered to a halt in a shambles, with names left behind and frustration abounding, until a kindly poster re-converted the data back to a simple list. Most posters can handle the simple list, and other posters find it relatively easy to help duplicate a simple list. Having a complete list at the end of the cycle can give hints of trends and is just plain fun to watch. Even if a table view list is presented, I’ll ensure the simple list is always close by.

HOW TO ADD A NAME:
This is self-reporting, self-updating and DIY. Mods don't update the list. Kindly posters occasionally do, but the burden falls on posters to copy the list, add their entry and post the updated list.

WHO SHOULD POST: This is meant primarily to be a list of offers of appointment to USNA(candidates with NAPS or prep offers [Class of 2030] should celebrate in their own thread), so we can see the class of 2029 build. If you have a question to ask, it probably deserves its own thread, and this one can stay relatively true to its purpose.

HOW TO CREATE UPDATED LIST:
Copy the most recent list, paste into new post, use the next number, enter your info in a similar format, post. If you don’t do this, and just post an entry and not the updated list, you risk the next poster updating the last list, the one without your name, and leaving your entry stranded and not included. Please do the neighborly thing and update the entire list with your entry.

Don’t forget to go back and update Undecideds! Same drill - Copy list, paste into new thread, update your entry, post.

Since I usually start this one every year, I reserve the right to add musical interludes or other content as a morale-builder, which may not strictly adhere to the stated purpose of the thread, but I enjoy. And want to!

Word of warning. The good CAPT runs a pretty tight ship in these threads. At some point she wlll put the smack down on random posts and tell the posters to "lock it down," as our kids would say to the Plebes, and stick to only appointments. :bleh2:

then I better get a post in now so I can say I was one of the lucky ones who got to reply to this thread early. Ha :)

That’s one of my brothers, Nemo, Ahab, or Hook. A little well-wishing at the beginning is fine. We usually have a companion chat thread that gets started, to hang out in. Don’t have that yet. Soon.

Time to just…wait.

Go to this companion “ready room” thread if you are dying to chat about appointments, the process, questions, speculation, hand-wringing, etc., or don’t have one to post here yet, to preserve this thread as best we can for appointments.

With the “LOA Received!” posts popping up, I am feeling it won’t be long until someone completed any conditions attached, such as DoDMERB or nom, and we might see an offer of appointment posted, or someone with a service-related nom gets through their wickets and the spigot opens up just a bit.

If you are seized with the desire to chat, note the thread link above. ⬆️⬆️⬆️

In the meantime, enjoy last year’s Army-Navy game drum line:

Wish every one the best luck, especially fellow 2028 TDs !

Persistence and perseverance will pay off — Eventually !

still alive over here!

finished applying to all available noms and even secured a nice ROTC nom from the NROTC unit

though one of my buddies in my district did get an LOA, which is great news for him, but less than desirable for me! 😁

he deserves it though, one of the kind of people I would sleep easily at night knowing he is in the Navy, a genuine and authentic good man who really has the values of HONOR, COURAGE, and COMMITMENT etched onto his character and it shows
