@Capt MJ's USNA Class of 2030 Appointment List Updated by Poster thread will again generate considerable excitement and anticipation. So, let’s “rig for dive.” The intent of this companion thread is to keep the 2030 Appointment List from getting torpedoed by posts unrelated to appointment news, congratulations, and music interludes.

USNA ‘30 aspirants, and interested parties, put your queries, comments, and hopes here to keep the 2030 Appointment List clean, growing, and moving towards I-Day. Here is wishing only the very best to all candidates in their quest for an appointment. “Dive! Dive!” [dive alarm sounds].

USNA chapter 30

Actually that’s not correct. But it works for the 2000’s.

Thank you shipmate @WT Door, I can always count on you to create this thread for all-purpose chatter related to the 2030 appointment journey.
Prego, @Capt MJ. It should be another interesting application season for candidates. I know their hopes will be high. I hope they get what they want and deserve - whether at USNA or elsewhere.

USNA '30 Candidates, I applaud your decision to dare, and to throw your hat into the ring. Good luck!

Just for those who don't get one...most do not at USNA. Can change year to year but our DD never got an LOA but got multiple appointments. That's the end goal...so congrats to those with an LOA in hand (don't let up, still work to do) and chin up to those who never get one. Good luck all!

Congratulations to all on your LOA’s. Hoping my DS gets his soon. He was trying to get it before the day that his sister got it back in 2023. Sibling rivalry.

I had one sibling that received a LOA, so was confident that their sibling (better stats) would also receive one.

Not only did sibling NOT receive an LOA, they were waitlisted. And not pulled off the waitlist until later May. It’s all about each years slate competition.

And as far as siblings go, I asked specifically in BGO training if there is any consideration (as in points) given to siblings. And straight from those in the know, the answer was ‘no there isn’t’. Although they did further state that there is consideration given to twins as studies show that twins do better when they are together (interesting…but there’s that).

Reminder to ALL readers: LOA’s are uncommon. You don’t ‘go for one’. Don’t be concerned one tiny bit if you don’t get one. Don’t expect one. Idk the percentage, but it’s got to very, very high that a large majority of the class does not have one. My two (then) mids reported that they didn’t know anyone in their friend groups that had an LOA, back in the day.

Good luck to all. Only a mere 6 more months, half of a year, until mid April. USNA’s typical goal of ‘notified by’ date.

Great News @2030GoNavy, Congratulations! Hopefully you can kick-off the 2030 Appointment list very soon!! 2029 first posting was early November 🤞🤩🇺🇲...maybe @Capt MJ could give us one of her wonderful musical link posts on that thread to bring it to the front page ;) .

Can I cautiously do a small happy dance?
DS - LOA received, Nomination secured and today DoDMERB qualified.
Yes still working on plans B C D but can we dance quietly or am I missing something?
A discreet dance is definitely in order. You will probably be able to drop down to 1 alternate at a time that feels right. That’s in case of unexpected injury or illness or other issue that might prevent reporting in. Candidates have to keep DoDMERB updated on changes to medical history.
