Just wanted to say it was a fun experience for anyone who can go, and it’s absolutely worth the trip! All expenses paid overnight stay with Midshipmen from Nov 11 to Nov 13.
Highlights for me included starting the day by playing soccer with Mids in the pouring rain at 6:00 AM and some funny moments in my Mid’s classes while I shadowed during the rest of the morning. Getting lost at lunchtime was definitely up on the list of unique things though, I ended up hanging out in a completely random company who was pretty welcoming. Food was OK.
Cherry on top was the LOA given to me by the Dean of Admissions at the evening reception. Heard some pretty great speakers as well from the Navy and USMC. Night ended on a basketball loss to VT, but it was a nice little slice of life at USNA. Got to talk to both Mids and Officers about life at USNA as well as the Navy and USMC as a whole, which was super informative.
I’ll for sure be missing it on the flight home tomorrow the 13th. Hopefully USNA is in my sights.
