USNA Marathon Team Members Running in The Boston Marathon

Weather might play a little factor - 35-50% chance of rain (better forecast than earlier in the week) and 8-13 mph wind out of the east (running against the wind the entire way) - temps are in a comfortable range at mid 50s.

22 mids are running today. For those who don’t know, to be able to run this marathon, you have to qualify in a Boston qualifying (BQ) race before registering or be running for a charity. BQ times are 3 hours for men and 3.5 for women ages 18-34. All of the mids running the 26.2 miles today BQed.

My kid runs with the team, but is in no shape to qualify. He ran his first half with them a few weeks ago.

I don't have very fond memories of my two times running Boston. They were far from my best performances ....... :bleh2:

Good luck to all! I know how it feels to get to go, and then the feeling (relief) of the finish. It is something everything distance runner should get to experience.

I wonder how many mids ran in Boston ten years ago. This is the 10th anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing. Today's mids were around 10-11 years old. Never forget.
