I received a phone call today from Senator Allard here in Colorado and he told me that I am receiving his nomination to USNA .

2 Questions:

I received a LOA to USNA (Contingent only upon nomination) in September now that I have my nomination will I receive an appointment shortly?

I also received LOA's to USAFA and USMA (Contingent only upon nomination). Should I let my other Senator and Congressman know that I already have a nomination to USNA?

Thank you for any insight and advice you may have.

Very Respectfully,

bobcatmatt

Congratulations on your nomination and LOA!!! I remember the day mine came through for me and how excited I was, so enjoy.

Congrats!

I'm still waiting... I got the Presidential nomination, and I'll most likely be interviewed for another nomination soon. It's so nerve racking! Waiting like this. :eek3: lol. But we wait... because it's worth it! Good luck!

Congrats

Congratulations!

I must say I'm a bit bitter, though. I just got the rejection from him.

O well, I've got two more chances.

Anyway, good work. You've got your **** together.

Best of luck in the coming years,
Geoff

You should receive your official appt. from USNA shortly- you've got your LOA, assuming DoDMERB qualification, and now a nomination. Your're in USNA as long as nothing changes in your life-- health, grades, status with the law, etc.

If USNA is your school of choice, letting the others off the hook will allow the process to go smoother for someone else down the line.

Congratulations!

Whoa - settle down. You have an LOA, you will get a nomination and it doesn't matter if it is from a senator or a congressman. No need to be bitter just be patient.

!!!!!CONGRATS!!!!!
If I don't get in until next year ya better not beat up on me since I'll still be a plebe.:shake:

Do not let any schools off the hook - you do not know what may happen down the line - injury, second thoughts, etc.

qwerty is referring to bobcatmatt having received LOA's to USMA and USAFA in addition to USNA.
USNA is his first choice, he has his nomination he can really stop there.
Unless he just wants to "collect appointments".

He definitely should have and keep a civilian backup - it's a long way to the end of June.

LOA but no nomination??

Congrats to you on your nomination! My son received a LOA in late September and recently finished his interviews with his Senators and MOC. For whatever reason he did not receive a nomination-one office claimed the competition was extremely competive this year, and recommended a year of college??? He has a 4.2 weighted GPA and 3.98 unweighted, and ACT of 32 math and 32 verbal. Any advice from people in similar situations?? One office indicated that LOA does not guarantee nomination, of which I am aware, but I would think they would want to be assured at least one appointment. He is an athlete who spent a week at a camp this summer and was in touch with the coaches throughout the process. Thanks for the advice

uh oh

:frown:
Well, that doesn't help my confidence. I just got 2 LOA's last month, and I've already been rejected from one senator.
Where are you from, bambino?
I'm in CO. I don't know if competition is as tough here.

Hi gdesena,
We are in GA. I hope you get more positive news from your other Congressman.
