In completing the Summer Seminar application, it asks for the ACT ELA score and STEM score. I know the STEM is derived from the math/science average. My DS has a STEM score listed on the ACT site. The ACT site states the ELA is the average of the reading/English/writing. What if they have not taken the writing, therefore no ELA score. My DS scored 35 on both English and reading, but no writing. Any advice?

I would suggest they put 35. If they took the writing, then it would be the average, including the writing. If they didn't take the writing, there is no harm. But if they plan to also submit an application to West Point, they need to take the writing section too. (Only for west point)

Thank you!

Consider reaching out to admissions to make sure you don’t make a mistake. Putting 35 is not a bad idea though.
