Just found out a few days ago that I've been accepted into the USNASS, wondering what to expect and what I should prepare for before! Ive been preparing for USMA for so long now, my knowledge of the Navy is a little pathetic. Any tips or expectations would be great!

Nothing for you to know beforehand. Go with an open mind and a positive attitude. Prepare to learn things and be willing to constructively compare the two fine institutions.

DD had USNA at the top of her list since middle school. Attended USMA’s SLE and was duly impressed. With offers of appointment to both, she very seriously considered USMA based largely on her SLE experience. Ultimately chose USNA.

The point being: You don’t know what you don’t know, so go with a great willingness to learn.

Work your way through the USNA.edu website, including links and drop down menus. Get a feel for the officer warfare communities (not “branches” per Army usage) available in the Navy and Marine Corps.

Be open to the experience. This is meant to give you a sense of this SA and what could lie beyond.

You might get one whiff of salt and never look back.

You will likely not see the video below happening , but DTA (downtown Annapolis) lies temptingly outside Gate 1.

DS turning down his invitation to NASS - because of the vaccine requirement. So, one more spot just opened today for the first session.

going through the process - hoping the policy changes before next summer, yes

A vaccine is required for all military service. I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
