I have always said, SAF should be a requirement, a spot on the application to make an account and a commitment to post all your updates! That way there are fewer mysteries! I would bet my DS and Maskry's DD are not the only people from the same district, we just don't see everyone. I think nodiva is correct in that perhaps the person who was awarded IL-11 has not accepted, so USNA is still obligated to pull a person off of that slate, which is why there are at least 2 of them???? But then PinWrestling is correct also, if all the slates have been awarded and they have pulled these wait list people off the NWL, then it's just a list where you get pulled off of as needed to fill the class, IF they need to???

Veterans/Experts, am I right? Now that I'm down to the last kid, do I have it figured out?! Lol

Bottom line: we are still waiting, still have very little clue of what admissions is thinking, and still don't know who's sweatshirt to buy!
 
I have been wondering what the success rate is for wait-listed applicants after re-applying the year following a wait list.
 
Dial the gate, it really isn't worth trying to figure out what is happening -- many different scenarios could be playing out.
PinWrestling, it is a good sign, but keep in mind...you will continue to be re-evaluated based on your college grades/activities. If you do really well, the odds are likely in your favor, but slip a little and it might not. Continue to work very hard so that the decision is easier for Admissions. As always with this process, there are NO guarantees!
I would still recommend calling the AC to find out where you can improve.

I don't know how I got waitlisted and not rejected. My CFA scores were low and my participation in sports was minimal in high school. The only redeeming qualities I could think of are my grades and how I am a junior in college (first time applicant). I love the Navy, though, so I am more than happy to be considered! But I am saddened that those who have much better all-around qualities were outright rejected...
 
USNA requested DS's final release paperwork from his shoulder surgery. Not sure if they are just continuing to persue the waiver in the event his number gets called off the wait list or if he is being considered sooner than that. Who knows! He, coincidentally, had the ortho appt the day before and sent in the "resume all regular activities" doc note.

This is a long roller coaster ride. After the ride with DS#1, at least this time around, we know that Plan B will be phenomenal and DS #2 will be just as fine!

Your Plan B may be God's Plan A. Continued prayers and patience, good luck, everyone!
 
Dail the Gate, DD was wearing the sweatshirt from her plan B school when she got the email she had been waitlisted from USNA. She has the NROTC-MO scholarship to USD. God's Plan B? A+! Hope your DS's shoulder is healed and best wishes to him for a successful future.

Thank you, he is healed and back to all activity. He has an incredible Plan A+, NROTC scholarship at Auburn.
