Im so sorry to hear this news, but keep the FAITH, God has some exciting plans for your DS as he begins a new journey.I am sorry to hear about such bad news, good luck to your DS in whatever path he chooses.
May I ask if your DS was WL previously to USNA?DS got his official twe just now. Actually relieved that he can really get excited about NROTC at University of Michigan.
Yes. He was put on the waitlist on April 11th and got email today saying more students accepted and they wouldn't have a spot for him.May I ask if your DS was WL previously to USNA?

I received the NROTC Scholarship this evening- I haven't decided what school I will be taking it to (assuming I will be able to transfer); I am torn between WPI and RPI. Although, at this moment in time this is only a semi-temporary Plan B- c/o 2021 is still in the running! Let's do this wait-listers! Don't give up the ship!

Have all candidates not on the waitlist received a response already or are there still people in CPR? Im assuming if there are still people in CPR that they remove someone from the waitlist for every candidate that accepts an appointment?
And there are a few people here who question whether what I say comes from a burning bush; but that is probably the source of "light" you speak of, and thus proof.Thank you for sharing that. Just needed that light and you've provided that for me.
May I ask, how is the decision made on which candidate to delete from the WL and send a TWE to?It is normal for USNA to send out TWEs to those on the Wait List over time. They usually don't come all at once. The norm has been a handful or two as time passes. Some don't get the final TWE until I Day. Unless there is a rare case, no one should be CPR at this point. They should be Wait List, Appointed, or an LOA pending final medical decision or TWE. There could be a rare case for CPR, but more than likely its a rare case and they should be talking with admissions.
Congrats on the NROTC scholarship. That is a great path!

His admissions officer, who was terrible throughout the entire process, and was impossible to communicate with, never gave him a clue as to what his status was.
I think sometimes those situations come out of nowhere, and nothing the Academy do to provide notice, but certainly it would be easier if someone was giving candidates an update now and then. I am sure my son had the worst admissions office in the history of USNA, as she never responded to any email or call.
I finally sent an email explaining that my son was at WP, and got a very nice email back from the new admissions officer for our area. Glad the old one is gone.
