1/2 month delay in Cuba after a third of the fully vaccinated crew came down with covid. No report of anyone injured (serious or not) or hospitalized. Makes me wonder going forward how they will react to each subsequent event. How does a covid outbreak affect readiness if no one is sidelined by it (as opposed to being sidelined for quarantine). I suspect there will be similar occurrences throughout the year and responses will change if a Milwaukee type occurrence is the norm.

I was glued to DVIDS last summer looking for pics of my kid at NSI. Today they have pics of Milwaukee crew. Other than wearing masks outside which I find odd everything looks normal to me.

Actually, I think it was less than that. I didn’t see a date listed in the article but I believe it was only in port for about a week. I heard about it being back out last month.

With the gift of time and lessons learned from the TR and other ships with outbreaks, the Milwaukee was able to handle the COVID outbreak much like we've always handled a flu, TB, or gastroenteritis outbreak. This is another sign to me that COVID-19 is entering the endemic phase.
