Ok folks- taking a break from Lawsuits, Revolutions and Worlds crumbling. On Monday- The Chocolates and Romantic Dinner just won't be enough. What are you playing for that significant other on Valentines Day to show how much they mean to you? - Here are my top 5 nominations:
1. Righteous Brothers: Soul and Inspiration

2. Mel Carter: Hold Me; Thrill Me, Kiss Me

4. Bill Withers: Ain't no Sunshine

5.Van Morrison: Brown Eyed Girl (sorry about this one- it probably doesn't rate the placement , but my wife's eyes are dark brown!)

"What am I playing to sweep her off her feet?"

The last scene from Karate Kid, where the coach tells Johnny to "sweep the leg".

Of course, Pima would probably just go all "Crane Technique" on my behind afterwards because she knows: "If do right, no can defend!"

This is where everyone loses any respect they had for me:

At Christmas; my wife and I always get each other 1 "BIG SPECIAL" present that covers Christmas and Valentines day. We get other smaller presents for each other at christmas, but the one big one covers both holidays. Actually, that also covers easter and so on. We do birthday and Christmas. This stems from our "POOR" days, when it was all for the kids. We still do for the kids. Matter of fact, the wife just sent a valentine's day care package down to the academy to my son. And one for my daughter who lives across the street. And we do this for easter and thanksgiving also; as well as birthdays and Christmas. But the wife and I only give gifts at birthday and christmas.

Believe it or not, the Mrs. is REALLY INTO YARD WORK. She loves working in the yard. One year she wanted this really nice Lawn Mower. No Shiite. This year, she wanted this special weed eater made by Worx; along with accessories. Seriously. For me, she bought me a new S&W M&P15 AR-15 rifle.

Now; to redeem SOME of your respect; birthdays, she gets the high end jewlery and girl stuff. She also gets the lovey dovey stuff at christmas also; but the one main thing is for the other holidays. We will however go out to dinner this weekend. (Or possibly wait till next weekend when our son comes home for the 3 day weekend)

So; sorry if it isn't very romantic. We were poor for many years, and now that money is actually a non-issue, we're just accustomed to giving to the kids .
