Varsity Letter crucial?

I am overwhelmed by everyone's willingness to share the above information and appreciate it greatly. All of it seriously motivated my son and he has some tough decisions to make. I know he will, and they will be good ones. Thank you for your assistance in that! You all play an important part in mentoring our future leaders!

I read another post on SAF that was similar to yours - the student was having to decide about staying with Jr ROTC or doing more with sports. The time commitment of ROTC was high enough that it got in the way of other really-important-to-WP-activities. The upshot of a lengthy discussion was to seriously reconsider ROTC and fill that time with sports.

My son did not play a varsity sport. He was homeschooled, so that was not an option for him. He did however participate in two sports at the club level and was team captain a few times. Don't know if this helps any, but I appreciate your concerns.

As much as I hate to agree because he loves it and is great at it I do indeed agree. Thanks for the info and advice!
