That comes with great responsibilities. I was the OP on a thread that is still pages long but coming to an end. I've started a thread with one response and just a few views. Of each I am aware of the great power that I wield when stroking the keyboard. And so should you, young keyboarder, as the implications are huge and the consequences are varied. @Devil Doc .... [re: Plebes Dropping Already] I think you set a record on the rate of replies, and the total replies in the shortest amount of time.

I am fairly certain the thread that has garnered the most enthusiasm and posts since my arrival to the forums is none other than the illustrious and storied Bacon thread created by the now infamous @THParent. Any time a thread gets testy, or appears to have a pending moderator intervention I always try to wade in with a humorous suggestion to head on over to the Bacon thread. Bacon seems to calm heated keyboard fingers. Good luck to the OP, his enthusiasm is admirable, and I am sure over the course of the next 4 years his skills at editing his words prior to hitting send will improve. Lord knows mine still need improvement. ;)

I started it because I truly was curious as to why young people who made the cut to get there could not get through the confinement of the first few days upon arrival. My personal record at sea is 110 days without pulling into port and believe me that is a long time, but the Eisenhower just did 200 some odd days at sea without liberty. The thread became more than just answering my question and I should do a PayPal request for all the venting and counseling that was done but as a simple public servant I will just accept as much praise and thank yous that comes my way.

from a mom of a plebe who did a total of 35 days between iso and quarantine and stuck it out, a heartfelt THANK YOU Devil Doc. It was really more like a counseling and therapy session. Now if only the forum had a couch.
 
This is my first post in about five years, but I just wanted to say thanks to the OP for starting this thread because it has been one of the most entertaining I have read in a long time.
My son is currently applying for USNA, USMA, AROTC, and NROTC-MO, so I don’t know which side we will end up on regarding the Very Important Inrofmation.

The bacon thread started when I was on a self-imposed timeout from the Internet. I felt like a stranger when I came back and entered the bacon thread so I don't go there. I know I'm missing a lot but I can take only so much happiness.
 
I always thought "Annapolis Resturants/Where to Eat" was the best thread......always gets me thinking...
