Class of 2030 asking this question. Does it matter when you submit your application for the VP nomination? Do they give them out in a rolling manner?

It doesn't matter as from what I understood, VP noms are given towards the end of the selection cycle.

Just get it in and check it off your list. Very few are given out and they are at the end of the cycle because the service academies make the decision on those. But it's still important to complete it.

It does matter. The application typically closes toward the end of January. But this year, it closed early with no warning. Some candidates did not get an application in.

1. Complete the VP application with the rest of your nomination applications.

2. Take a screen shot of the completed application and when submitted. There is no email receipt.

Academies control the VP nominations and they tend to be toward the end of the cycle.

Submit it before you have any interviews (like MOC or BGO). Oct 1 is probably a good deadline. You want to able to say YES when they ask you if you have submitted it. Same goes for submitting ROTC application.

Just make sure it is submitted before the deadline. FYI, it closed early this year so it wouldn’t hurt to do it early. Screenshot the last page as that will be your only evidence that you applied for the VP nom. They don’t send any confirmation.
