Can we visit our DD/DS while they are attending West Point? People have said we can but is the campus currently opened due to covid restrictions?

I believe if you visit the West Point Website they will have the most current up to date info on visitation. I do know that if you have valid DOD ID you are allowed on post and can move about pretty freely (except for the Cadet areas) as long as you are vaccinated or pass NY State's Covid protocols.

If you can, and have a DOD ID, try and schedule anything outside of "official gatherings" a couple of days in advance. Right now if you have a visitor ID (issued to non-military parents) you have to meet your Cadet at the visitors Center off post.

Hopefully as time passes and things calm down the rest of the restrictions will be lifted and things can return to almost normal..:)

Thank you - definitely helpful info.

So, you will be able to get a parent ID card. When it is not COVID19 restrictions, yes! You can visit.
You might plan to attend a football game in the Fall or parents weekend in October. Definitely plan on attending A Day and Plebe Parent Weekend if you can. Otherwise, you can just head up for a weekend. You will want to coordinate with your child--they often have things to do on Saturdays or school projects on deadlines--but yes, you are able to go for a visit.
