DS is going to USMA for an overnight visit. In the information we received, we were told to park along Thayer Rd, and mention was made of a shuttle which comes by at 6:35. Do you think that time is accurate? We have been told to report to Admissions at 7:45. If this is right, and we don't want to sit for an hour, how long of a hike is it from parking to Admissions?

Agreed. It's really not that far. And I remember thinking the exact same thing -- does the bus come on time? What if we miss the bus? So we made sure we were there on time so as not to miss the bus.

On the way back to the car in the afternoon, we walked, and we really enjoyed the views and it wasn't very far at all, and we all talked about how silly it was of us to stress about the morning shuttle.

I will say, though, that it works to your advantage if you are one of the first to show up at the admissions office. More personal attention in a less-competition-charged atmosphere.

Yes, drive up Thayer Rd and park along the river. You can only park on the right side (river side). Drive until you see a car parked and park behind it (assume it is the end of the line) - not a lot of places to turn around if you keep driving and discover no more spots. When we went last spring, they had discontinued the shuttles (budget cuts, you know!), so not sure if they have the shuttles or not.
Have fun!
