Visiting

So this year is my second time applying to the academy and I've never actually visited. I'd like to see the academy first hand before I make a decision, if I have to make one so I am in the process of making plans to go down for a visit during my spring break in early March. Any suggestions on what days are best to visit, where to stay, what to see, so on and so forth?

I actually just asked my regional director for a Candidate Visitor Weekend in February. He offered me one last week so I will be there on Feb. 9-11! Try emailing or calling your regional director.

As futuremid posted, you can inquire about a Candidate Visit Weekend. That may or may not work into your plans -- but if you are offered a spot and can attend, that would be the ideal time.

Otherwise, if you attend on your own, I'd highly recommend NOT going during the MIDN Spring Break (10-19 March), as the Yard will be empty. Again, this depends on how flexible you can be with your plans.

Unfortunately, my spring break is the week before their's, so I know there won't be a CVW that fits into my schedule.
