VMI Acceptance

Just agreeing with Bruno that if there is a way to financially swing it.. It is a good investment. Many do get through without the benefit of STP so it is not impossible, but DS thinks that it made a great difference for him.

Absolutely correct. Go to STP if you possibly can. And get in shape!!

My DS registered for STP as soon as the info became available on the website. He's taking English Comp - and for those who are considering it, they said that it's first come, first serve for the class you want. He's really looking forward to it, and I thank all of you for your advice!

I signed up for STP also, taking English Comp. I think I may order a Dell laptop from the IT people at VMI and start getting used to it before STP.

We bought our sons lap op directly from Dell with the VMI package and got the 4 year insurance plan.. It was sitting on a table and the table got knocked over.. Laptop was fixed at the bookstore in 1 day.. no charge. He had one other software issue and it was all covered and taken care of quickly. If you go with Dell's VMI package the IT dept at VMI are especially versed and prepared to fix pretty much everything quickly.

My DS will be attending STP. Anyone else from Washington State attending?

We live in Seattle. Do you remember the old Navy base at Sand Point? We live on a ridge overlooking the old base, just Northeast of the University of Washington.

I do indeed. Beautiful. I went to school at the University of Washington and still have family there.

I also went to the UW via NROTC. Graduated in 1979 then 20 years in the Marines. None of my kids expressed an interest in attending there. My DS was born at Ft. Belvoir so I guess he considers himself a Virginian and thus his interest in VMI. Unfortunately, that doesn't qualify him for in-state tuition!
