VMI and Norwich Advance to Rugby National Final Four Championship

Today was the conclusion to a phenomenal season for VMI Rugby. VMI came up one try short against the defending national champions, UW-Whitewater, a team that had been ranked #1 all season. Read the post below from the Cardinal Collegiate Rugby Conference for some of the details. Great job to the Lads. VMI Rugby #2 in the Nation!

RAH Virginia Mil!

Virginia Military Institute represented the conference this year.

Tied 27-27 with 2 minutes left, UW-Whitewater managed to get the ball to their best player on the wing and scored the go ahead try to make the final score 34-27. Congrats to UW-Whitewater Men's RFC on their national championship!

VMI battled through obvious fatigue in the second half, after close to 110 minutes of rugby the day before, the Keydets gave UWW their toughest match of the season.

VMI finishes the season as runner up for the USA Rugby Collegiate Division 2 national championship, their first time doing so.

Congrats to all the VMI players and coaches for a phenomenal season!"

Great accomplishment for VMI and Norwich! Would have been great to see either SMC as the National Champion, but #2 and #3 is amazing! Congratulations to both.
