VMI and the Citadel

Same for the final physical test at USNA. Seemed every year 1-2 midshipmen failed a few days before graduation.

The cadet was removed from the program 4 days before commissioning and now has a rather large payback.

I was just thinking, that is not a phone call home I would want to make.

Or one I would want to be on the receiving end.

Last year DS's school had 5 MS-IV's that got caught for plagiarism on their final paper. School kicked them out. No appeal, no rebuttal, don't let the door hit you. PMS decided it wasn't worth arguing with the school. 5 days before commissioning.

Ouch

I searched for Corps and ROTC and came up here
What The Citadel's policy that "all cadets are required to take four years of ROTC"?

VMI is

VMI cadets are not required to commission into the armed forces. All cadets are required to take four years of ROTC, with choice of ROTC branch for those planning to commission. Cadets not planning to commission are enrolled in Army ROTC. Commissioning cadets may choose Army, Navy, Marine Corps, or Air Force. VMI is also one of eight U.S. Coast Guard direct-commission schools.

Thanks

While every cadet must successfully complete a course in one of four ROTC departments each semester
