VMI at USNA football-Rat apermit confirmation

So, I'm new at this. It sounds like the Rats will be free to leave with parents, etc after the Navy game in Annapolis, spend the night with parents and return to post Sunday evening. Is this correct? We're expecting our Rat to cover p's and q's on this one, but have no way to confirm his understanding. Going to great lengths to be there. Would be a bad day if this is not so.

You are correct. The Commandant is taking the whole corps of cadets to Annapolis. Those Rats who have a parent or guardian present, are free to take their Rat home on Saturday.

As far as the P's and Q's, I have no idea the specific steps they have to take on their end. They obviously won't be able to sign out on Postview like they normally would. It's all new to me too!

I wouldn't stress over those details too much- the Rats will know how to sign out - there will undoubtedly be about 1000 turnouts reminding them of what they need to do before they climb on the bus. As parents though, since you will be likely responsible for getting them back on post in time, make sure you know what time they need to sign back in by on Sunday.

Should be a good trip and I hope tht the Corps does the school proud. I also hope the football team does well as it's been a very long time since they were even moderately mediocre I'm afraid- though a few years ago they almost pulled one against Army before Army's 6-10 wide receiver reeled one in with about 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter to get the win. They've been pretty spotty in the first two games - lot of turnovers. But hope springs eternal, and for both the team and the Corps sake - I hope they get UP for this one. A Corps trip and a good game are a lot of fun- a Corps trip and a slaughter just last forever.
