DS left this morning for IBOLC. When he matriculated at VMI almost four years ago his goals were Army, Infantry, college degree. He achieved all through hard work and the help of the people at this amazing college. While visiting post every contact we had with staff at VMI was professional and personal; from the facilities crew when we had questions about handicapped access, the admissions office, financial aid, to Army ROTC. Every event on post was well run and always on time. The commissioning and graduation ceremonies were incredible; the personal, academic and professional growth of these cadets over four years at Mother "I" is astounding. We are truly grateful that such an honorable place exists for those whom it fits.

Congratulations to your Boy and welcome to the VMI Alumni family ( hope that his pitching arm is good - it's a long throw to hit the Cadets on parade with a beer can from Moody Hall [emoji57]) and good luck on his new career as a Soldier!

It's been an amazing 2 years for us so far, looking forward to the next two!! Never thought I would actually make amazing friends through my son's college choice!

Congratulations on your son's commissioning and graduation !!

I neglected to say that this forum had been invaluable to us novice parents as we tried to help DS in early days navigate the AROTC scholarship and college process. Without posters like bruno, who talked me off the ledge four years ago as DS awaited news of scholarship and VMI acceptance, the road would have been a lot rougher. My thanks to all.

Amen to this !!
