Hello, I'm thinking of applying to VMI from out of state, and I want to supplement being a scholar with an Army ROTC scholarship. I have a 4.0 GPA, am projected to have a 30+ ACT, am in varsity athletics, and am involved in many groups. I will take many College courses, and have already completed college history courses my freshmen and sophomore year. I am in Student Government, Youth in Government, deliver communion to the elderly, have volunteered on political campaigns, done mission trips, and have coordinated debates for local elections. I was wondering my chances at a VMI Institute Scholarship.

Hey olympics1,

This is coming from a current VMI Institute Scholarship winner.

Sounds like you have a great shot at becoming a VMI Institute Scholar - go for it. You miss all the shots you don't take.

Good luck, and start running if you aren't already!

Requirements:
  • 1380 (combined) SAT (or) 31 ACT, High school GPA 3.7, Top 10% of high school class
I'm sure you've seen this but these are the minimum scores required. Be ready in your interview to talk about the things you put on your resume. Do not put anything on there that you are not ready to talk about in detail.
