VMI Rat Mass 2020+3 (Class of 2023) Appointment Thread

I see on some of the VMI FB pages that the VMI Appointment offers/acceptances have started, so I thought I would try to get the VMI Appointment thread going. Given the VMI entering class size is only 500, this list won't be as long as the "Big 3" SA lists, but thought those appointed to VMI might like to post here. Recommend the format should be something like:

#. //Avatar name//DS or DD//where you are from//which ROTC you plan to participate in// you can add your planned major and/or if you plan to play NCAA or a Club-level sport

Example
1. ProudDad, DS, VA, NROTC, International Relations, Lacrosse
2. Trooper, DD, NC, ROTC undecided, Civil engineering

Congrats to both of you. If you end up going, you’ll do well.

The NROTC-MO cadets always seem to do well within the Corps. If I recall correctly, during the 4 years I was there, the Regimental First Captain were NROTC-MO cadets for 3 of those years.

Another positive thing for VMI NROTC-MO cadets is that the unit is large enough to do meaningful training that can really help in preparation for OCS and eventually TBS if contracted. Some NROTC units at civilian colleges are small and the MO component even smaller, making it difficult to do meaningful training and field exercises. Marine options from VMI are well prepared and tend to do well at OCS/PLC and TBS as a result.

To all VMI appointees -- checkout the VMI FB pages. I'm not allowed to post the links here on the forum since the majority of those pages aren't official pages sponsored by VMI -- most of them are run by parents, cadets and alumni. Would recommend you not share too much personal on those pages as they are "open" but they can be a great source of information. At some point in the near future there will be a FB page set up just for VMI Rat Mass 2020+3 Parents. That site will be administered such that you have to prove you are a Rat Parent. That is done so you can communicate freely and without any concern about lurkers. Again, welcome to all appointees and their families!
